Check the Soundtrack Player
- Unplug all audio cables connected to the player.
- Insert a pair of headphones into the front output, labeled with a (!).
- If you hear the noise when playing through the headphones, try a different power output.
Check the audio equipment
- Check all of your cables are connected. Loose or damaged cables can cause a variety of noise problems.
- Move your audio equipment to a different place. Humming and noise can be caused by interference from other electronics.
- Plug all of your equipment into a single power outlet. This will eliminate ground loops, a common cause of humming.
- Add a ground loop isolator, a device that sits between your audio equipment and the power outlet to help reduce noise.
