Dante Director: remote network management
Dante is unlocked on the Soundtrack Player when connected to a Dante Director account. Dante Director enables remote monitoring and management of Dante networks of any size. Learn more about Dante Director.
New Dante Director users can create an account at https://director.dante.cloud.
What you’ll need
- 1 x Soundtrack Player
- 1x Dante Director account
- 1 x Internet router
- 1 x Network switch – a dedicated switch rather than using the ports on the back of your ISP's router is recommended
- At least one Dante receiving device
- Ethernet cables
- A PC/Mac with Dante Controller installed
Setup steps
- Set up your Soundtrack Player following the instructions here. Skip the RCA step if you’re only using Dante.
- Check that your Dante devices are on the same wired network as your Soundtrack Player.
- Connect the laptop to the same local network and open Dante Controller which should discover all Dante-capable devices and list them under the “Device Info” tab if they’re on the same local network.
- Enable Dante on the Soundtrack player by adding it to your Dante Director account:
- In Dante Controller, click to ‘Devices’.
- Connect a device to ‘DDM / Dante Director’ menu. Login to your Dante Director account if prompted.
- Choose all of the devices in the dialogue box.
- Click OK.
- The devices will now be manageable within Dante Director, and the Soundtrack Player Dante funtionality will be unlocked. In the Routing tab of Dante Controller, you will now see transmit channels associated with your Soundtrack Player.
- Configure your Dante network subscriptions to send audio between devices.
