Yes! When enabled, our explicit filter blocks out all tracks marked as explicit by the record labels in all of your zones.
Additionally, to supplement data from record labels, we perform extra screening on songs in our ready-made playlists. This screening is used to further mark any songs that contain sensitive lyrics or subjects. You will still be able to play explicit playlists and stations, but all songs marked as explicit will be blocked by the player.
To enable the explicit filter:
- Click on the drop-down menu in the top right corner.
- Click on Company settings.
- In the general section, you can find Music control.
- Enable Block all explicit songs.
You can also choose to block specific songs from playing even if they aren’t marked as explicit. You can find our guide on How to block songs here.
What songs are screened as explicit?
While swearing is flagged as explicit content, other lyrics of sensitive and questionable nature are inherently subject to perception. You're welcome to send any feedback on specific songs you find to be inappropriate to support@soundtrack.io.
If you're using imported playlists from Spotify, we always recommend reviewing the songs before playing in your zone. Occasionally, songs with explicit lyrics will not be marked as such on Spotify and the track might have not been reviewed by our music team.
