There's a new version of our macOS player with better features and improved performance. It replaces the older player, which had some limitations we've now fixed.
What does this mean for you?
The older macOS app will stop working April 29th. We recommend switching to the new player now to keep your music playing without interruption and enjoy the improved experience. Here's how to make the switch:
Step-by-step
First, let's remove the old Soundtrack app for macOS:
-
Log in to your Soundtrack account here.
-
Go to Zones in the top menu.
-
Click on the zone where you want to switch to the new macOS player.
-
Click Switch device, then Unpair. This disconnects the old player.
-
Then head over to Finder in your computers Dock.
-
Click on Applications. Find the Soundtrack app, click to select it.
-
Move the app to the Trash. Here’s how you can do this:
- Drag the app to the Trash icon.
- Select the app and choose File > Move to Trash from the menu bar.
- Select the app and press Command-Delete on your keyboard. -
To permanently delete the app, choose Finder > Empty Trash from the menu bar.
Second, install the new Soundtrack app for macOS:
- Go to your Soundtrack account again, and click on the zone where you want to switch to the new macOS player.
- Go to the Download apps page.
- Choose the macOS player (macOS 14.2 or higher required).
- Open the downloaded file and drag the Soundtrack icon to your Applications folder.
- Launch the new Soundtrack app (it has a red icon).
- Log in to your new macOS app and enjoy the music!
